Senior Associate Environmental Consultant

We are headquartered in London, Riyadh, Singapore and Dubai, Cape Town, Cairo & Sydney working throughout the Middle East, Europe and Asia. Our areas of expertise are represented in four core verticals: Building Engineering, Planning and Infrastructure, Strategy and Advisory and Commissioning, Handover and Asset Management.

JOB PURPOSE
- Project management of a variety of projects of varying complexity and scale.
- Quality assurance of project work undertaken by others.
- Manage both the technical and commercial aspects of projects.
- Act as the primary contact and drive forward business development in the sector through existing networks and new relationships, including with regards to writing proposals and participating in conferences and events.
- Contribution to the continued growth of the Environmental Division.
- Management of multiple client relationships.
QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE
- (Required) Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences or Ecology or other relevant studies.
- (Preferred) Masters of post-graduate degree in a relevant field of study.
- Generally, a minimum of 10+ years relevant professional experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years management experience, leading project teams and subject matter experts to deliver according to client expectations.
- Proven track record in business development, work winning and client care.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Delivery
- Manage projects of varying scale with multi-faceted technical scopes both internally (i.e., internal project teams, subconsultants) and externally (i.e., clients, authorities).
- Independent commercial management of projects, identifying and evaluating financial risks associated with projects, including cost overruns and revenue shortfalls.
- Manage your own time and your project teams to ensure our work is delivered on time and to the highest quality.
Technical Excellence
- Support technical leadership, guidance and support to the Division.
- Assist the Team Lead in the technical development, upskilling and training of staff to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality services.
Clients
- Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with current and potential clients.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients and work on ensuring their satisfaction.
- Manage multiple client relationships, mainly through project delivery
- Generate work-winning opportunities with new and existing clients (including preparation and leadership of different proposals).
- Client-oriented in your approach and project delivery.
Strategy
- Assist the Team Lead to develop and implement a strategy to develop the terrestrial ecology services across the MENA region.
- Manage priorities to meet organisational strategic requirements, assist in identifying resource requirements and support the long-term planning for the terrestrial ecology team.
Mentorship and Skills Development
- Act as a mentor to senior consultant and consultant staff in the Division.
- Support the upskilling and training initiatives for the ecology staff in the Division.
Professional Development
- Actively participate in environmental industry forums in the Middle East to raise your professional profile and enhance AESG’s profile in the market e.g., attendance at key conferences, participation in industry groups etc.
• Work towards ecological/environmental accreditation or certification (if not achieved).
Continuous Improvement
- Assist in building a continuous improvement culture in the Division, whereby we
continuously strive to improve project delivery, quality, timeliness, client outcomes and productivity.
