MEP Cost Manager
AESG are currently recruiting a MEP Cost Manager to join our cost management team to work on a project in Cairo, Egypt.
As a Cost Manager, you will support project leader in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our client, and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider.
The successful candidate will have experience working as part of a dedicated consultancy team delivering successful cost management services on major projects. The role will offer significant opportunity for progression and career development. You will need to demonstrate relevant and recent experience with appropriately sized projects as well as the ability to engage and communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors. The ideal candidate will have a technical and experience-based QS background, a solid understanding of numerous design standards, and the ability to communicate advice appropriately and effectively. MRICS achievement or aspiration is preferred but not necessarily mandatory for the right individual.
Job Purpose
- Provide all necessary assistance and commercial support to the Cost Management team ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
- Liaise with customer representatives and other third parties on commercial issues including agreement of variations, claims and any additional payments. Will be responsible for the review and preparation of interim payments, project variations and other financial matters.
Qualification and Experience
- Recognised Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 5+ years of working experience.

- Providing accurate cost advice and reporting to our clients.
- Delivering projects, commissions and professional assignments.
- Assuming a leading role in setting objectives and priorities, working as a proactive team player.
- Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for the successful completion of projects; liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control.
- Undertaking cost management services with limited supervision.
- Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner.
- Providing support to the team leader/service leaders in the cost management of projects.
- Ensure effective interaction between the cost management team and the operational site teams.
- Carry out cost management including forecasting.
- Prepare cost estimates of project design stages.
- Monitor contracts final cost estimates.
- Review, negotiate and prepare claim settlements.
- Prepare Final Account with all supporting documentation.
- Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client.
