Architectural/Civil Quantity Surveyor

JOB PURPOSE
Provide support to the team and contribute to the effective management of costs associated with construction projects. The role involves a range of tasks related to quantity surveying, cost estimation, budget management, and contract administration.
QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE
BSc or MSc in a Architecture, Civil, Construction Management, or related field.
Minimum 0-2 years of relevant experience-based Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Management background
Proficiency in using cost estimation software, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), and relevant project management tools.
Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts and procurement methods.
Solid understanding of CostX / CATO measurement experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and collaborate effectively.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of the role.
Ability to identify issues, analyse situations, and come up with solutions.
GENERAL EXPECTANCY
Moderate experience and proficiency in multiple competencies.
Capable of handling tasks with supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the preparation of accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
Collaborate with project teams to gather relevant information for cost forecasting.
Support the monitoring and control of project budgets.
Identify and address budget variances.
Measure and quantify construction works in accordance with industry standards.
Prepare valuations for interim and final payments.
Assist in the preparation and evaluation of tender documents.
Support the administration of construction contracts, including change orders and variations.
Analyse cost data to identify trends and potential cost-saving opportunities.
Contribute to the development of cost benchmarks for future projects.
Maintain accurate records of all cost-related aspects of the projects.
Prepare and update documentation related to quantity surveying activities.
Collaborate with project teams, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about industry best practices, changes in regulations, and advancements in quantity surveying methodologies.
Proficient in relevant software applications, including Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying tools.
Knowledge of construction contracts and relevant regulations.
