Position Overview

AESG is seeking an experienced BIM Manager with deep expertise in data center and mission critical facility design to join our Mission Critical department. Reporting directly to the Head of Mission Critical, this senior role offers significant career progression opportunities and the chance to lead BIM implementation, coordination, and delivery across diverse data center projects throughout the EMEA region, as well as occasional building services projects including hotels, offices, and commercial developments.

The ideal candidate will combine technical excellence in BIM processes and digital design delivery with proven experience managing complex multidisciplinary coordination for hyperscale data center operators. This role requires hands-on involvement in model production, team supervision, and technical delivery, while acting as the Lead Appointed Party under ISO 19650 for assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as Lead Appointed Party for BIM delivery in accordance with ISO 19650, with formal authority to accept, reject, or delay information deliveries that do not meet agreed standards and client Exchange Information Requirements (EIR)

• Develop and maintain project-level BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), Master Information Delivery Plans (MIDP), and review/approve Task Information Delivery Plans (TIDP) submitted by design disciplines

• Establish and manage Common Data Environment (CDE) structures using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / BIM 360, including project setup, access control, folder structures, workflow configuration, status codes, and information containers (Work in Progress, Shared, Published, Archive)

• Lead multidisciplinary coordination efforts, chairing clash detection reviews, coordination meetings, and issue resolution sessions with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and specialist disciplines

• Enforce BIM standards, protocols, and quality control procedures, ensuring compliance with ISO 19650, BSRIA BG6 guidance for MEP, hyperscaler-specific requirements and client specifications

• Supervise and mentor project BIM teams on Revit best practices, family creation, parametric modeling, and workflow optimization, while maintaining hands-on involvement in complex modeling tasks

• Manage COBie-compliant asset data structuring and delivery for facilities management handover, supporting construction phase information delivery and digital twin integration

• Prepare and deliver BIM coordination reports, clash reports, design validation summaries, model quality audits, and lessons learned documentation

• Support business development through BIM capability presentations, technical demonstrations, and proposal preparation

• Identify and escalate BIM delivery risks early, implementing structured risk management procedures

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ years progressive experience as BIM Manager, BIM Coordinator, or senior BIM role with significant focus on data center and mission critical facilities

• Proven application of ISO 19650 on live projects, including experience as Lead Appointed Party or within ISO 19650-compliant frameworks, with working knowledge of EIR, BEP, MIDP, TIDP documentation

• Demonstrated expertise delivering projects for hyperscale operators (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) with deep understanding of their Revit templates, family libraries, naming conventions, and coordination workflows

• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit (Architecture, Structure, MEP) including parametric modeling, family creation, phasing, worksets, design options, view templates, and advanced scheduling, with hands-on modeling experience

• Expert-level experience with Common Data Environments (CDE) including Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / BIM 360 administration, and strong expertise in Navisworks for 3D coordination, clash detection, and 4D sequencing

• Practical experience with COBie asset data structuring and familiarity with BSRIA BG6 Building Services BIM guidance

• Proven track record delivering data center projects across design-build, design-bid-build, and EPC frameworks, coordinating mechanical, electrical, architectural, structural, civil, and specialist disciplines (fire protection, security, telecom)

• Significant experience with projects in GCC and broader EMEA region, with understanding of regional BIM maturity levels, local codes, and stakeholder dynamics

• Strong technical background in building services engineering with ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, understand construction methods, building systems, and MEP coordination requirements

• Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to explain technical BIM concepts to non-technical stakeholders and lead coordination meetings

• Proactive, structured approach with demonstrated ability to manage delivery risk and hold authority to challenge non-compliant information

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline; professional certifications (Autodesk Certified Professional, buildingSMART certifications) preferred

• Advanced BIM tools: Dynamo for Revit automation, Solibri for model checking, Bluebeam for PDF coordination, digital twin platforms for operational handover

• Point cloud processing and scan-to-BIM workflows for existing facility documentation

• Computational design and visual scripting (Dynamo, Grasshopper) for design automation

• Sustainable design coordination experience (LEED, BREEAM, ESTIDAMA) and energy modeling integration (IES VE, IES Apache, DesignBuilder)

• Data center-specific BIM knowledge: hot/cold aisle modeling, cable tray routing for high-density power, precision cooling coordination, raised floor systems, structured cabling infrastructure

• Federated model coordination strategies, including coordination sequencing, trade-specific clash priorities, and progressive coordination approaches

• 4D scheduling integration (Navisworks Timeliner, Synchro) for construction sequencing visualization

• Understanding of data center monitoring systems (DCIM, EPMS, BMS) and BIM coordination with operational systems

• Experience supporting construction phase information delivery and commissioning coordination

• Mentoring capabilities with experience guiding junior BIM coordinators and modelers

• Project management skills including planning, resource allocation, and progress tracking

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in fast-paced environments while maintaining quality standards
